Kemar Roofe completed his move to Anderlecht this week but the striker said that he would remain a Leeds fan.

However, he put some fans’ noses out of joint when he said the move was a no-brainer as he was joining a “massive club”.

His words were reported by new Yorkshire Evening Post journalist Graham Smyth on Wednesday morning.

You have to be very careful what you say when you leave a club, unless you just don’t care, like Laurent Koscielny.

Most Leeds fans were appreciative of Roofe’s contribution to the club and his goals nearly got the club promoted last season.

However, some took exception to the insinuation that Anderlecht was a bigger club than Leeds and took to Twitter to let him know.

One Leeds fans summed it up very well though when he said that Roofe was hardly going to say he was joining a small club.

The bottom line is that Roofe couldn’t agree a new contract with Leeds and found a club who was willing to pay him what he thinks he’s worth. We say good luck to him.
