Leeds fans react to Bamford v Derby
You can feel some sympathy for Leeds striker Patrick Bamford.
On the face of it, he’s playing well – he has done all season.
Four goals in eight Championship games isn’t a bad record – if he can score one every two games he’ll be near the top of the Championship scorer charts come the end of the season.
But, and it’s a big but, he’s not scoring enough and his blanks are costing Leeds points.
Leeds should have won easily on Saturday and should be two points clear at the top of the table. They really should have beaten Swansea and that would mean a five-point gap at the top of the table.
These points could matter come the end of the season.
Leeds are creating so many chances but just not converting them, and as the number one striker Bamford has to take responsibility for this.
But it’s not that clear cut and that’s why the Leeds fans are torn about Bamford and his display on Saturday.
Here are the best reactions on Twitter:
So the Bamford debate rolls on. It’s simple for me – his job is to put the ball in the net and currently he isn’t doing so!
No amount of ‘hard work’ and ‘being in the right place’ can make up for that. #lufc

It’s mad to think our standards are set so high this season that a draw feels like a defeat and we’re still top of league but come away from this weekend feeling gutted 😂 #lufc #mot bamford actually had a good game sat, klich’s pen lost us that not Bamford

@Patrick_Bamford keep your chin up mate. A lot of us #LUFC fans see you as you are..a top class player. We see what you do on the pitch I for one support you 100% Rise above the idiots who seem to enjoy having a go at you and enjoy every game you play in a #Leeds shirt #mot #alaw

Seems some fans have short memories and are back on the I have Bamford train and are unable to see how effective he is especially at hold up play allowing others to get forward remember it's a team game not relying on one guy #lufc

Patrick Bamford, 32 shots and 4 goals, not to mention the endless amount of amazing crosses and chances he's missed completely. I've always stuck up for him, but there's no excuse for it now. #lufc https://t.co/ejBQcMpicE

One thing I don’t get is how many fans are piling on Bamford and Harrison after yesterday but giving Klich a free pass. Sure, Pat and Jack missed bad ones, but the pen would have won us the game and that’s easier than a shot in open play, with defenders around you #lufc

How can we drop Bamford when again yesterday (like all season) he's been one of the best players on the pitch? #lufc
