Jim White: Roofe to Rangers is just 'agent talk'
Sky Sports transfer guru Jim White has poured cold water on a report that said Rangers are keen on Leeds striker Kemar Roofe.
The Sun ran the story on Sunday and claimed that Leeds are looking for £5m for their top scorer, with Rangers on the lookout for a replacement for Alfredo Morelos if he is sold this summer.
BBC journalist Adam Pope said on Sunday that the move “definitely has legs” but White claims that it’s just “agent talk”.
Citing a “source close to Leeds” White said the club “has had no approaches for the player”.

Leeds fans know which version of the story they’d rather believe, but Pope is a very solid source of Leeds info and he doubled down on Monday, saying there was “interest”.
He also said, “Nothing is likely to happen until Morelos’ future is sorted” and that the Scottish club was just “getting their ducks in a row”.
The actual substance of White’s tweet is that Leeds have had “no approaches” but the Sun report doesn’t actually go that far anyway.
It does seem like there could be interest if Morelos goes but even if that happens there are two factors to consider – do Leeds want to sell Roofe and does he want to go to Scotland?
With Leeds favourites to win the Championship and return to the Premier League it seems like a backwards step for the striker, despite the lure of European football at Ibrox.
Roofe is out of contract next summer and he hasn’t signed a new contract yet. The Scottish Sun claim he’s on £10k-a-week and it’s unlikely that he’d get a lot more in Scotland.
However, Leeds won’t offer Premier League level wages until they’ve secured promotion and that leaves the Roofe situation delicately poised. This is one to watch.
