Jesse Marsch will be thrilled by Adam Forshaw after Leeds United midfielder scores stunning free-kick

Leeds United midfielder Adam Forshaw scored a stunning free-kick in training, right in front of Jesse Marsch, and it should please the Whites boss.

The Whites squad are in Spain for a training session, and Marsch will be absolutely thrilled by the quality of the delivery (footage shared by the club’s official Twitter handle) from the veteran midfielder.

It’s a stunning goal, even if it is on the training ground. The bend in the delivery and the technique involved only goes to show what a player Forshaw is.

Unfortunately, the Whites didn’t get the best of the former Middlesbrough midfielder. Since joining the club in the January window of 2018, Forshaw has struggled badly with his fitness.

Between 2019 to 2021, he made just eight appearances for the club, and at one point it felt like his career was as good as over, with a series of injuries keeping him away from action.

Last season, he made 26 appearances in all competitions. However, the injury nightmare didn’t leave him completely as he has managed only 47 minutes of Premier League action this season.

The 31-year-old midfielder has a contract until the end of the season, and there are suggestions that he could be sold in the January window.

Former Bleacher Report journalist Dean Jones told Give Me Sport [8 November] that Forshaw ‘is available in January’ and he will gain plenty of interest from Championship clubs.

Jones reported that Forshaw is being put up for sale at Elland Road. However, Marsch knows that Forshaw can give him quality performances on the pitch if he stays fit.

It looks highly unlikely that the Whites will sell him now, as they need depth in midfield. But whether he will be given a new contract, remains unclear.

In other Leeds United news, the Whites are aiming to get this “human wrecking ball” out of Elland Road in January.
