Jack Harrison chases shadows in first half as Leeds United exit could be on the cards

Jack Harrison has been frustrating to watch in the opening 45 minutes as Leeds United struggled to create clear-cut chances against Brentford in the Premier League clash at Elland Road on Sunday (22 January).

The 26-year-old couldn’t influence the game at all, and he looked confused about his position. At times he drifted left, while most of the time operated in the centre behind Rodrigo.

Apart from one attempted cross, there was hardly any output. He was superb against Cardiff City in the previous game, but here he kept on chasing shadows.

This is really frustrating. The lack of consistency in Harrison’s game is really worrying and Jesse Marsch may need to make a big call on his future.

CBS Sport journalist Ben Jacobs reported on 20 January for Give Me Sport that Ajax and Atalanta are keeping tabs on Harrison, and his days could be numbered.

Harrison has managed one goal and four assists in the Premier League thus far.

Previously, he was linked with a move to Newcastle United during the summer, but it feels like the club must make a big call on his future if there’s an offer on the table.

Harrison needs to show hos worth on a consistent basis, and Marsch surely will tell him at the break that he wants more from him.

He has got quality but he needs better application. Harrison needs to get more into the game, and make best use of the ball when he is in possession.

He was very very poor in the first half, and a big improvement is required.

In other Leeds United news, we’ve been exclusively informed about a group of senior Leeds players telling the board they want Jesse Marsch to be sacked.
