'Game changer' – Some Wolves fans react as Leeds announce Costa deal
Leeds have announced that Helder Costa has arrived on loan for the season and the club will sign him on a four-year deal in the summer.
It’s a fantastic stipulation for Leeds fans, with Costa now effectively a new permanent signing.
Leeds get to put off the full payment until next summer when they’re hoping they’ll be back in the Premier League, and the longer structure and delayed payment helps the club with financial fair play.
If the club doesn’t get promoted? No Leeds fans would want to think of that but it’s obviously a sizeable possibility.
We don’t know how much the fee will be but we can’t see it being much short of £13.5million. That’s what Wolves paid for Costa.
And he’s on Premier League wages, £32.5k-a-week, which would currently make him the highest-paid player at the club.
If Leeds don’t go up we can’t see a way they can afford him without selling. Or Costa could just be sold onto another club.
That’s the pessimist’s view though. Optimists will say that Leeds have a much better chance of going up with the attacker.
Leeds fans are obviously delighted with the news but sometimes it’s better to see what the opposing team’s fans are saying. And a lot of Wolves supporters have been very complimentary about Costa. That’s a very good sign.
This is what Wolves fans are saying:
great singing he will rip the championship apart again he’ll easily be the best player in the league

Best of Luck Helder. You’ll thrive under Bielsa and I’m sure you’ll smash the Championship (again)

Good luck Helder, you’ll be missed at Wolves. You’ve joined a proper club and I’ll be watching you tear the Championship a new arse next season. Look after him Leeds xx

On his day, an absolutely fantastic footballer. A game changer. Can literally be unplayable at times and a real joy to watch.
Lost his way with us the last season, but get him firing again and you guys will fall in love with him
Good Luck Helder 👍

If he discovers his form of 3 seasons ago you’ve got one hell of a player. Confidence was completely gone by January last season tho
