Door opens for Leeds United to complete Hwang Hee-chan signing as Fabrizio Romano drops Wolves update

Leeds United are seeing the door open for them to sign Hwang Hee-chan from Wolves with the Midlands club seemingly making moves for a new forward.

According to Fabrizio Romano on Thursday night (25 August), Wolves have made an approach to sign Sasa Kalajdzic from Stuttgart.

It is understood that the Molineux club has offered £12.6million for the 25-year-old Austria centre-forward and while Stuttgart are demanding more, talks are going to continue.

If Wolves sign Kalajdzic, it’ll no doubt weaken their resolve over Hwang.

The 26-year-old South Korea international is already seen as a squad player at Molineux, although he’s played a bit more this season than usual so far due to Raul Jimenez being injured.

The former RB Leipzig striker, who played for Jesse Marsch in Germany and at Red Bull Salzburg, didn’t start last weekend against Tottenham though with Bruno Lage playing new signing Goncalo Guedes and Daniel Podence up front.

Hwang can play across the attack but even his versatility means he’s never truly been in the picture at Wolves.

Leeds are now said to be showing an interest.

Sky Sports reported on their live transfer blog on Wednesday (24 August, 08:38pm) that Hwang is a target of Leeds but Wolves want up to £25million.

It is understood that he’s keen to play for Marsch at a third different club in Leeds.

While there have to be doubts about Hwang’s ability compared to the valuation Wolves have placed on his head, there’s no denying that signing him will be made a lot easier if Wolves complete that move for Kalajdzic.

In other Leeds United news, Marsch has said this Leeds player is the “best” he’s ever seen.
