Diego Llorente out after Jesse Marsch team news: Leeds United predicted XI v Brentford

Patrick Bamford could return to the Leeds United starting line-up for the trip to Brentford on Saturday due to Rodrigo’s shoulder injury.

Bamford, 28, returned from his latest injury setback by coming off the bench in the 1-1 draw with Everton earlier this week. But while one striker is returning, another is set for some time on the sidelines with Rodrigo injuring his shoulder in that game in a collision with Jordan Pickford.

Jesse Marsch could also leave Luis Sinisterra out of the side as he hinted that Joe Gelhardt could join Bamford in the starting line-up.

As quoted by LeedsLive on Thursday (1 September) when asked if Bamford is fit to start at the Brentford Community Stadium, Marsch said: “First I think yes that he can. We’ll have to make that decision but we could start with both Joffy and Patrick, it’s something we are speaking about as well.”

If Gelhardt starts, he could replace Luis Sinisterra after he made his full Premier League debut against Everton as the slow process of bedding him in continues.

Finally, Liam Cooper is fit, as confirmed by Marsch [LeedsLive], and he could come in for Diego Llorente, who may be axed by the American manager due to his shocker against the Toffees.

Illan Meslier is predicted to start in goals behind a back-four of Rasmus Kristensen, Robin Koch, Cooper and Pascal Struijk.

Marc Roca and Tyler Adams could start in the central midfield area.

Brenden Aaronson is predicted to start on the right-wing with Jack Harrison on the left.

Gelhardt could play up top with Bamford in a fluid, deep-lying striker behind the returning England international.

Deadline-day signing Wilfried Gnonto isn’t expected to be in the side as he was signed late on Thursday and might not even be in the country by the time the game kicks off against Brentford.
