49ers Enterprises must brace themselves for January transfer offers for Crysencio Summerville after Leeds United display v Norwich
Leeds United may well have to brace themselves for several offers on Crysencio Summerville in the January transfer window after his latest sensational match-winning display against Norwich City.
The Whites fought back from 2-0 down at Norwich City as Daniel Farke’s return to Carrow Road ended in a thrilling Championship win on Saturday (22 October).
After going two goals behind in the first half at Carrow Road, a Shane Duffy own goal was followed up by a superb Summerville double to secure the Whites a 3-2 win.
The result lifts Leeds United up to third in the Championship table on 22 points from a possible 36 on offer and within six points of high-flying second-placed Ipswich Town.
While Farke will be delighted at the result on his old stomping ground, he could well be caught with some mixed emotions on the form of his “baller” star Summerville who was absolutely everywhere at Carrow Road, which could ultimately lead to several January interest.
The Dutch under-21 international registered his third and fourth goals of the Championship campaign so far and an update from Phil Hay on 23 October suggests that Summerville could well have ended up elsewhere over the summer.
According to The Athletic journalist, Leeds were said to be transparently open to offers for the high-flying Dutchman over the summer with Burnley making a late offer that was rejected, while Crystal Palace, Bournemouth and Feyenoord were also taking a look.
It’s believed that Summerville was advised by those around him to stick it at Elland Road and it seems as if the Leeds United gem is reaping that decision right now with some stunning displays, especially at Carrow Road on Saturday.
As per SofaScore, the Dutchman deservedly picked up the best average rating of any player on the pitch at 9.4/10 but it was his all-round display at Carrow Road which highlighted why he is one of the first names on the teamsheet and Farke’s main man at Elland Road.
Summerville recorded a whopping six key passes throughout his 89 minutes on the pitch, successfully completed five of his six dribbles, won eight of his duels, registered four shots, 11 touches in the Norwich City penalty area, seven passes into the final third and recovered the ball five times in a complete performance.
With a couple of the above clubs desperate for attacking quality right now in their arsenal, including Crystal Palace, it may not be a surprise to see the Eagles firm up their interest in the Dutchman.
The Premier League is always an attractive league for Championship stars and given Summerville certainly has unfinished business in the division, the 49ers Enterprises must certainly brace themselves for several offers on the 21-year-old in January.
In other Leeds United news, Jon Newsome was full of praise for one player in particular against Norwich.
