Finance Guru: All roads lead to 49ers takeover after Leeds United transfer news

We’re delighted to welcome football finance expert Dr Daniel Plumley as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Leeds United...

Dan Plumley has insisted that he would be very surprised if the 49ers Enterprises didn’t complete their full takeover of Leeds United this year in 2023.

It comes after reports shared that the American consortium played a key role in green-lighting the club-record move for Georginio Rutter this month [David Ornstein].

The Finance Expert shared that the takeover will likely be completed in the summer, with the hope of Leeds still being a Premier League club when it happens.

“I would suggest so again,” he exclusively told MOT Leeds News.

“The more we see of this and them being key to some of these transfer deals and all the narrative we have seen with dates for the takeover and the relationship as it has been over the years, I think, again, I’d be very surprised if that’s not the way that this goes.

“When all is said and done, this is just another thing that lines up the full takeover and probably in the summer once the season is complete and hopeful Leeds are a Premier League club within that because that’s a more attractive club to take over.”

Leeds United fans will be delighted to see that the 49ers are already getting involved in transfers at Elland Road.

The Americans green-lighting the Rutter move means they will likely pay big instalments for the French wonder down the line after taking the reins from Andrea Radrizzani.

All roads are leading to the 49ers, let’s get it done.
